Drink: Cocktail recipe for June
Every month I share my favourite seasonal food and recipe ideas. In June, Elderflower is one of my favourite flavours. It's delicate but distinctive and it's almost the only floral flavour that I enjoy. And at this time of year there is nothing lovelier than an Elderflower Collins outdoors, in the evening.
Elderflower Collins
Recipe by Sipsmith Gin
Ingredients
40ml Sipsmith London Dry Gin
20ml (or to taste) elderflower cordial
Sparkling water
a traditional "flag" of an orange wheel and a cherry.
Instructions
Combine Sipsmith gin and elderflower cordial in an ice-filled Collins glass.
Top with sparkling water.
Stir gently.
Garnish with the orange and cherry.
And it's that easy! Just like making a G&T but so lovely on a warm summers evening. Now, I have to admit that I prefer a wedge of lemon as my garnish and I find the whole cherry/orange flag thing a bit 70s, but each to their own!
